Professional Summary
I’m a Product Designer and Engineer with expertise in User-Centred Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Digital Media Technologies, Business and Innovation Strategy. I studied BEng Design, Innovation and Creative Engineering at Queen Mary University of London and graduated with a 2:1 in 2020. I have industry experience working independently and in small interdisciplinary teams to develop new product ideas - from researching the problem and defining the initial project brief to creating conceptual designs, proof-of-concept and production-ready prototypes in collaboration with manufacturing partners. I have worked with various kinds of clients and organisations including start-ups like The Washing Machine Project and design consultancies like Hackmasters. I’m passionate about using my skills to develop products that solve problems, improve lives and achieve commercial success.
Background and Inspiration
Born and raised in London, I developed an interest and ability in art and drawing as well as understanding how things work through physics and design technology from a young age. I chose to pursue my interests further by studying Design and Engineering at university because I wanted to see how the two disciplines could be combined to develop more innovative designs for products. I was inspired by products like the Nike Mag and HyperAdapt self-lacing shoes and the products made on BBC's "The Big Life Fix" series to improve the lives of people with extreme disabilities to see how I too could use skills and knowledge of Design, Engineering and Technology to solve problems and make the world a better place.
About My Business
Overview
I set up my business as an Independent Contractor trading as Wisdom Ejuetami Designs to allow me to use my skills to provide services to help Clients solve problems they face developing ideas for physical and digital products into successful start-up businesses and implementing changes to improve products provided by existing businesses.
Wisdom Ejuetami Designs provides services for Start-ups and Aspiring Entrepreneurs who are passionate about solving problems and creating a positive impact on people’s lives, businesses and the environment through product design and innovation. It helps Start-ups expand and improve their current product offerings. It helps Aspiring Entrepreneurs develop their ideas for new products into successful Start-up businesses. It provides access to the expertise, manpower, equipment and facilities needed to do these things.
Wisdom Ejuetami Designs is based in London in the UK and primarily works with Clients based in London but can work remotely with Clients based in other parts of the UK and around the world.

Wisdom Ejuetami Designs Origin Story
Wisdom Ejuetami Designs started out informally in September 2020. When I graduated in 2020 I found it harder than expected to get conventional work that matched my skill set and interests. I was reluctant to apply for other kinds of work though as I still believed my skills were valuable despite finding it difficult to get conventional work with them at that time. The turning point came when I followed advice I got from a mentor to try working for free to get experience. In September 2020 I started working on different kinds of projects informally for clients for free as a volunteer and at low rates as a freelancer to learn and get industry experience. I faced many challenges during this period working on projects informally but I persevered through them. I improved my skills, gained insight into industry issues and saw the value of my skills in helping the clients I worked with.
I later set up my business as an Independent Contractor formally trading as Wisdom Ejuetami Designs to help solve the problems I faced with working informally initially, solve problems I saw entrepreneurs face in developing product ideas, and enable me to achieve my goal of using my skills to help people develop products that solve problems and improve lives on my own terms. I did research and put systems in place to scale my business to work with more clients more consistently and mitigate against the risks that existed with working on projects informally initially.

Through my business, I aspire to help make start-ups, entrepreneurship and the design industry more accessible and inclusive. I want to empower people from all backgrounds to use their skills and insight to develop product ideas into successful start-up businesses and help improve the products offered by existing businesses. I am grateful for what I have achieved so far and I want to continue developing my business to work with more clients and improve my skills and systems for delivering services for clients to achieve better outcomes. I want to continue creating and seeing a positive impact on the clients and companies I work with, the people who use the products I work on, and the environment.
